Thanks to Morgan Hill resident Jan Strahan and her team of volunteers at the Machado Heritage Society, local school children not only learn about California history, they are helping to preserve it. In 2003, the Morgan Hill Unified School District announced it was closing the old school house. Strahan, who attended the school in the 1950s, decided to make a difference and turn the site into an educational opportunity.
