I often contemplate how to better serve and advocate for the current 530 chamber member businesses and how to continually present new future value-adds to the chamber program.

One such idea, The Shop Hop, is debuting in mid-October. Much of this particular idea can be credited to the creative genius of Patti Tartaglia, owner of Patti’s Perfect Pantry.

I was approached by Patti at a Chamber After-Hours Mixer earlier this year where she pitched the idea of a shopping mall mixer. From that conversation, and over a cup of coffee and a cupcake the following week, the concept for the Shop Hop was born. Holly Horner, manager of Thinker Toys, quickly jumped on board to lend her support and artistic skills to the idea.
The intent is to highlight multiple business members in a single location at one time, thus providing them all with added marketing, foot traffic, and overall exposure.

The first Shop Hop will showcase chamber member businesses located within the Vineyard Town Shopping Center. There will be an interactive component to this event in the form of a scavenger hunt. Participants will be issued a map at the registration location listing all participating shops and their corresponding clues. Participants will need to visit all shops in order to answer the clues and complete the hunt. At the final location completed maps will be entered into the grand prize drawing.

Businesses in the center who have been asked to participate include The Yoga Studio, RE/MAX, Vacuum Center, Patti’s Perfect Pantry, La Parisienne Hair Salon, Your Eyes Image, Margarita’s Mexican Grill, Sherwin Williams Paint, Thinker Toys and the UPS Store.

I invite everyone in the community to support, scavenge and shop local by attending this newest addition to the lineup of chamber programs.
