It’s coming to that time of year again where school is back in session, the days become cooler, and the leaves start turning amber. The official first day of fall is Sept. 22, but we started to feel the transition in mid-August when we noticed a temperature drop from our 90-degree days. We had an amazing memorable summer, full of fun community events such as the Friday Night Music Series, our Freedom Fest events that concluded with the Fourth of July parade and Fireworks on the Green, and so many more.

As we get ready for sweater weather, football season and everything pumpkin spice, let’s check out the wonderful events right around the corner.

Fall Passport Begins Sept. 7 and runs through the end of the month. Follow the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail and wine taste 30-plus neighboring wineries. Contributing wineries may have food and entertainment, and an opportunity to meet the winemakers and staff.

Sept. 29 & 30 we have the annual Taste of Morgan Hill and Car Show. Located in our beautiful downtown, this event will include arts and crafts, beer, fine local wines, live entertainment and a classic car show. This is a fun event for the entire family — and  admission is free.

Saturday, Oct. 13, we have our 6th annual Brew Crawl.  Attendees will sample craft beers across several downtown Morgan Hill shops and restaurants, and also enjoy the views of the exquisite British classic sports and saloon cars represented at The British Fall Classic.

On Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., there will be a public viewing of these exceptional cars.

One of the most popular events of the fall occurs Oct. 31when thousands of children and their parents dress in costumes and descend on downtown for the annual Safe Trick or Treat. Downtown Morgan Hill is closed to traffic so kids can trick-or-treat at tables where businesses and community participants hand out candy and fun treats.

Finally, the annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Morgan Hill Kiwanis Club takes place the evening of Dec. 1. Downtown Morgan Hill will be closed to traffic as dozens of groups and organizations show off their winter-fest floats.

Not only are all these events amazing, but they are located right in our downtown, with all the shops and delicious restaurants. So, let’s head into autumn with our calendars marked and ready to make some wonderful memories.
