The Morgan Hill Community Playhouse turned into the streets of New York and the mansion of Daddy Warbucks as 41 children age 6 to 15 put on the musical “Annie, Jr.” produced by the educational kids theater company TheaterFun Oct. 22 to Oct. 24.

All the shows sold out, said Carol Romo, owner of the Morgan Hill-based TheaterFun company and the director of “Annie.”

“I’m going to be really sad when it’s all over,” Romo said. “We’ve been rehearsing since Aug. 24 three days a week and it’s been great. The kids are great. It’s been intense, but you can see the results from the quality of the show.”

TheaterFun, which has developed children’s musical theater productions in Gilroy and other cities, chose to do the musical “Annie” because of it recognition among families in Morgan Hill.

“I needed to have a show name that would draw people,” she said. “This is my first foray into doing something of this size in Morgan Hill. I’m really unknown in the city of Morgan Hill, but I’m a resident here.”
