If you’re a “watchdog” type when it comes to making sure taxpayer money is spent wisely, the Citizens Oversight Committee that looks out for $198 million in Measure G bond funds for the Morgan Hill School District needs you. A position on the committee recently opened up for someone who fits the description “parent or guardian with a child attending in the district.” The committee meets on a quarterly basis and is made up of various residents of the district. If you’re interested in this position, call Jayne Giangreco with the school district at (408) 201-6052 or visit the website www.mhu.k12.ca.us for an application.

Brrr!!! It’s cold at night and the Thursday Night Farmers Market organizers want our Morgan Hill Life readers to know they care about you and our local farmers. They have postponed the weekly downtown Morgan Hill market through the rest of winter and will reopen April 18. Visit their site at the southeast corner of Monterey Road and Third Street when the warm weather returns this spring.

The CareMore Foundation shows it cares more and more about South Valley senior citizens by its generous donation of $10,000 to the Silicon Valley YMCA. The money will go to help fund senior nutrition programs at the Gilroy Senior Center and the Morgan Hill Senior Center. Thank you CareMore for helping many of our local residents get the meals they need to stay healthy.
