For more than four decades, RNP Advisor Services has helped residents achieve their lifetime goals with solid financial planning and professional investment management. Using a team concept, RNP advisors bring a wealth of knowledge, maximizing each of their talents and skills to deliver a personalized client experience, said Carl Reinhardt, founder and chairman of the board.

“It’s team concept that makes us different,” he said. “You are meeting with several people. We have expertise in 401K plans, distributions and retirement. We help at the accumulation phase and the distribution phase and we do a unique plan for all our clients.”

They will also communicate with a client’s tax advisor and attorney to formulate that unique plan.

“What do you want more, better, or different and we’ll meet with every advisor a client has and bring them all together,” he added. “We will create a balance sheet, cash flow statement and take into consideration your taxes, will and trust. It truly is a team.”

Born in Germany in 1943, Reinhardt arrived in the United States with his mother and stepfather when he was 10. He was sent to boarding schools in France and Germany, then returned to the U.S. where he attended a Catholic high school in Monterey. He has a bachelors degree in marketing research from California State University, Fresno.

His counselor at Fresno was an attorney who told him there was a new industry starting in financial planning.

At first, he wasn’t interested, but he did end up getting his security license in 1969 and interned with the attorney. That year he and his wife, Gerrie, and their oldest son moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where Reinhardt worked in the pension department of a large company. After the Pension Act was passed in 1974, he would go out to coal mines with an attorney and incorporate the coal miners and set up pension plans.
But the family longed to return to California.

“I didn’t want to stay with the insurance company because my wife’s family lived in Sunnyvale and Monterey,” he said.

They returned, and in 1975 Reinhardt started the firm Reinhardt Werba Bowen Advisory Services in San Jose. It was renamed Loring Ward Asset Management after the purchase by Assante Corporation in 1998.

Gary Newquist, one of the first Certified Financial Advisors, began RNP on Monterey Road in 1971.

Tiring of the commute north, Reinhardt and Newquist merged their businesses in 2006.

Since then, the company has grown and recently celebrated 45 years in Morgan Hill.

“We’ve grown because of our success and our clients’ success and we provide good service,” Reinhardt said. “We joke, but we really mean it — RNP stands for ‘Really Nice People.’”
