Live Oak High School presents OUR TOWN, America’s most beloved play @ Live Oak High School Theater
Oct 13 – Oct 28 all-day
Live Oak High School presents OUR TOWN, America's most beloved play @ Live Oak High School Theater | Morgan Hill | California | United States

Famously narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die. Cutting edge at its debut, Our Town remains a unique piece of avant garde theater and the inspiration of countless minimalist plays to follow.

“While all of Wilder’s work is intelligent, non-synthetic and often moving, as well as funny, it is Our Town that makes the difference. It is probably the finest play ever written by an American.” – Edward Albee

“Beautiful and remarkable one of the sagest, warmest and most deeply human scripts to have come out of our theatre […] A spiritual experience.” – New York Post

“No American play describes more powerfully how we imagine ourselves.” – New York Daily News

October 13, 14, 20, 27, 28 at 8:00. October 21 at 2:00.

SVCT Announces Auditions for their teen musical: Thoroughly Modern Millie @ Live Oak High School | Morgan Hill | California | United States

Audition signups are now available for South Valley Civic Theatre’s teen show, Thoroughly Modern Millie. Performances will be February 23 – March 17, 2018. This play requires a cast of 30-plus teens (ages 13-19 on opening night). There are lots of great roles for males and females.

Set in New York City in 1922, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of young Millie Dillmount from Kansas, who comes to New York in search of a new life for herself. Her grand plan is to find a job as a secretary for a wealthy man and then marry him. However, her plan goes completely awry. The owner of her dingy hotel is an unsavory character, her wealthy boss is slow in proposing marriage, and the man she actually falls in love with doesn’t have a dime to his name… or so he tells her.
