• The Live Oak Emerald Regime holds bingo games at the Britton Middle School Auditorium, 80 W. Central Ave., to support band programs. Meet at the Morgan Hill Shopping Center (Main and Hale avenues) for walks from 6 to 7 p.m. They also walk for 90 minutes Saturdays beginning at 9 a.m. The walks are at a moderate pace and include hills. An evening with the author
• Mount Madonna School presents an evening with New York Times best-selling author, international public speaker and practicing clinical psychologist, Dr. Wendy Mogel, at 7 p.m., in the Crocker Theater, Cabrillo College, 6500 Soquel Drive, Aptos. The public is also invited to a special reception with Dr. Mogel at 5:30 p.m. at the Sesnon House, next door to the theater, and the educator workshop at Mount Madonna School from 2 to 4 p.m. Dr. Mogel is an internationally acclaimed psychologist, author and public speaker. Winter book sale
• The Friends of the Morgan Hill Library’s winter book sales takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 660 W. Main Ave. All books are $1 or less, children’s books are 10 cents. At 2 p.m., there will be a $5 bag sale, including a reusable library book bag. The cost is $4 if you bring your own bag. Teachers and nonprofits may take books for free at the end of the sale but must pre-register by calling (408) 782-9029 or e-mailing [email protected]. A members-only sales takes place from 9 to 10 a.m. before the sale opens to the public. Memberships are available at the door.

‘Girl Rising’ screening
• The American Association of University Women presents the screening of “Girl Rising,” a moving new film about nine unforgettable girls living in the developing world who confront tremendous challenges and overcome nearly impossible odds to pursue their dreams. Crab feed benefits Emerald Regime Band
• Dine on crab and help raise money for the Live Oak Emerald Regime Band. View ‘Legends of the Knight’
• See a special screening of the Batman-based documentary “Legends of the Knight,” which weaves together the uplifting true stories of individuals who have overcome devastating obstacles, unselfishly given to the community, and embraced their inner superhero because of their love of Batman. The charities benefiting are local philanthropist and business owner Cecelia Ponzini’s Edward ‘Boss’ Prado Foundation and Cecelia’s Closet and Food Pantry. The screening takes place at 2 p.m. at the downtown Granada Theater. Tickets can be purchased at Betsy’s Restaurant, Noah’s Bar & Bistro, Small Town Memorabilia and BookSmart. You can also email [email protected] for tickets. All ticket sales are tax deductible. They ask that everyone wear Batman-themed clothing and even costumes to show your support.

March 4
Create a garden bed
• Create a healthy garden and enjoy a good harvest by learning about several practices that support the soil ecosystem from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave. Different types of garden beds, composting, and soil amendments will also be discussed. Presented by Master Gardener Glen Lattig.

March 16
Apply for scholarship
• The Morgan Hill Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering a scholarship to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders May 28-30, 2015, at the University of Maryland. Candidates should be a sophomore or junior in a college or university and available to speak to the Morgan Hill Branch during the 2015-2016 school year. Deadline to apply is March 16.
