CV Family Harvest Feast
• Celebrates the fall harvest with fresh, healthy food and outdoor fun as the Open Space Authority invites the community to the Coyote Valley Family Harvest Feast, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the newly-opened Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve, 550 Palm Ave., Morgan Hill. • Richard Kadrey is making a visit at 2 p.m. at BookSmart, 80 E. Second St. He is the creator of the Sandman Slim series of books. Sandman is “a good guy with a very bad attitude” and he shows it to protect his friends and mankind. If you like twisted humor and a supernatural detective story, you will love Sandman Slim.

Coastal Clean-up day
• Coastal Cleanup day takes place from 9 a.m. to noon. This is a chance for individuals, families and groups to enhance the health of West Little Llagas Creek and its wildlife. Participants will concentrate on picking up litter – gloves, bags and litter grabbers will be provided. Participants younger than 18 will need to bring a volunteer waiver signed by their parents with them the morning of the event.

Free e-waste collection
• Martin Murphy Middle School is teaming up with All Green Electronics Recycling to host an e-waste recycling collection from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school, 141 Avenida Espana, San Jose. Quilt show returns to Taste
