Morgan Hill Values Youth

San Jose Women’s March
• The Women’s March is a national movement to unify and empower everyone who stands for human rights, civil liberties and social justice for all. The March will start at San Jose City Hall at 10 a.m. and end about 3 p.m. at Cesar Chavez Plaza. Speech Trek Contest
• Hear talented Morgan Hill high school students express their views on the topic “Is it Time to Pass the Equal Rights Amendment?” and compete for cash prizes at the Fourth Annual AAUW-Morgan Hill Speech Trek Contest at 7 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave. The top three will receive prizes of $100, $200 and $300. Refreshments will be served. The top three in the state will be invited to compete at the annual convention in April. The winner of that contest will receive $1,500.

• The Great Musical Moments in Movie History class will cover the songs, dance numbers and background music for films of the sound era beginning in 1927 and continuing to the present. The class will view clips of movies and hear commentary by Roger Johnson — who has taught classes at SJSU — to enhance knowledge and interest in films. Women Changing our World: Paths to Leadership
• The Santa Clara County Interbranch Council of the American Association of University Women presents five outstanding leaders in the fields of business, law, government, STEM and sports in a free panel discussion entitled “Women Changing our World: Paths to Leadership.” The event takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. at San Jose City College Theater, 2100 Moorepark Ave., San Jose. Panelists will discuss the challenges they faced as women in male-dominated fields. They will describe what led them to their current work, how they have reached their current positions, and how women can create and pursue paths to leadership. No registration needed. A “Q & A” will follow the panel discussion.
