Walking program
• Join others in a weekday evening and Saturday morning walks. Meet at the Morgan Hill Shopping Center (Main and Hale avenues) for one-hour walks from 6 to 7 p.m. They also meet and walk for 90 minutes Saturdays beginning at 9 a.m. The walks are at a moderate pace and include hills. Bingo benefits bands
• The Live Oak Emerald Regime holds bingo games at the Britton Middle School Auditorium, 80 W. Central Ave., to support after-school band programs. Coe outings
• Take a hike through beautiful Henry W. Coe State Park on a guided backpack trip offered by the Pine Ridge Association. This is for experienced backpackers with their own equipment. It is not an extremely rigorous trip. The cost is $45 for PRA members, $55 for non-members. Proceeds benefit the PRA which supports Coe Park. • The annual Spring at Villa Mira Monte Boutique takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a “sneak preview” from 6 to 9 p.m. April 3 at the Hiram Morgan Hill House, 17860 Monterey Road. Growing summer garden
• Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County invite the public to learn about growing a summer vegetable garden. Clinic will demonstrate planting techniques, spacing strategies, irrigation and composting. Classes are free. The next class takes place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the South County Teaching and Demo Garden, Saint Louise Hospital, 9400 No Name Uno.

• The South County Realtor’s Association is offering several 2014 scholarships to graduating high school seniors living in South County. • Morgan Hill parents and community members are invited to participate in a community meeting to learn more about California’s new Local Control Funding Formula for school districts. Community input is an important change in the new funding formula.
