Photos by Marty Cheek More than 1,000 toys went to children of P.A. Walsh STEAM Academy and San Martin/Gwinn Environmental Science Academy thanks to Cecelia and Gary Ponzini’s Cecelia’s Closet, part of the Edward “Boss” Prado Foundation nonprofit organization. On Dec. 17, each school received 23 bags containing about 25 toys in each bag. “The way this program works is that the schools will put the toys in the classroom and allow the parents to pick the toys,” Cecelia said. “They’ll basically ‘shop’ for their children. The whole community provided the toys. Some toys came from as far as Sunnyvale, Milpitas and Monterey. One lady from Hollister said she had been a client of Cecelia’s Closet a couple of months ago and she had some extra money and so decided to provide some toys.” Ponzini hopes to expand the program next year to give toys to children all the elementary schools in Morgan Hill to make sure everyone has a happy holiday season.
