Christmas is a time for telling ghost stories around the home hearth. In the tradition of Charles Dickens and the famous three ghosts of the past, present and future who haunted that English author’s A Christmas Carol, Morgan Hill Life wishes to start an annual tradition of providing our readers with a holiday tale that brings out the “spirit” of the yuletide season.

Local writer Josh Clark has written a short story titled “Mr. Morgan Hill’s Christmas Wish” that tells the tale of how the ghost of Hiram Morgan Hill, the man for whom our city is named, visits our community on Dec. 7, 2013 and discovers what modern life a hundred years after his death in 1913 is like.

He visits his former Villa Mira Monte estate and explores many of the stores and restaurants in downtown Morgan Hill including Grinds, Vines and Automobilia Cafe and BookSmart. And he enjoys the annual Holiday of Lights Parade that is a favorite tradition for many Morgan Hill’s families.
