The wineries are bursting at the seams with more than just good wine. It seems that live music has really become the norm for many of the wineries from Morgan Hill to Gilroy to Hollister all the way to Livermore and Napa. You can often find live music on most Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Some have music on a more regular basis and the music covers many musical genres from folk to originals to classic rock. You can look up your favorite winery and see what the line-ups are by simply checking their event calendar or their music calendars.

Saturday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 9 the Santa Clara Valley Wineries are celebrating Fall Passport Weekend offering a passport for $30 that will get you into any of the participating wineries for sampling, light food, and live music.

Participating wineries include Morgan Hill Cellars, Aver Family Vineyards, Solis, Creekview, Kirgin Cellars, Ross, Guglielmo, Lightheart Cellars, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, Rapazzini Winery, Martin Ranch, Fortino, Satori Cellars, Thomas Krause Winery, Satori Cellars, Hecker Pass Winery, Casa de Fruta Winery, and Cinnabar in downtown Saratoga. Check your favorite winery’s website to see what live music they are featuring any given weekend.

Many wine bars throughout the South County and Silicon Valley also provide live music on a more regular basis. Check your local wine bar and if they do not have live music, ask them why not.

I am very lucky to get to perform at many wineries and wine bars throughout the area with my various acoustic duos and trios and it seems apparent to me that good music and fine wine are indeed a winning combination in this region.

If you want to come see what I do at a winery I will be at Aver Family Vineyards during Passport weekend from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 8. So stop by and have a sample of some fine wine, good eats and live music.

On another note, Grinds Vines & Automobilia Cafe in downtown Morgan Hill continues to provide live music almost every evening of the week while serving fine local wines, beer and great food.

Also, 88 Keys Cafe has live music nearly every day of the week, local wines, dinner nightly, and a full bar, too! Check them out on line and find out who is performing tonight.

Morgan Hill Wine & Cigar also features fine local wines and occasionally has live solo singer-songwriters. Often on Thursday evenings, Mama Mia’s will have live performances on their gorgeous comfortable outdoor patio.

Check out your favorite venue to see what’s happening.

If you have a music tip send me an email at [email protected] and I will be let everyone know about it.
