Beverly Blount of Gilroy and Dale King of San Jose perform June 8, as the Friends of the South Valley Symphony held its inaugural “Lakeside Musicale” event featuring a champagne brunch and musicians performing chamber music, popular songs and jazz. This year markets the 40th anniversary of the South Valley Symphony.
“So many times I have asked people, ‘Have you been to the South Valley Symphony?’ Dennis Kennedy, a South Valley Symphony member, told guests. “And many times I’ve heard, ‘I didn’t know we had a symphony.’ We’ve got to fix that. We’ve got to make everyone aware of what a wonderful treasure we have in the South Valley Symphony.”
The new season begins Oct. 12.
