Morgan Hill Downtown AssociationTo celebrate the summer months, the Morgan Hill Downtown Association puts on its popular Thursday Night Music Series located at the corner of Monterey Road and Third Street. Although the music is free, organizing this weekly concert event does cost the MHDA about $10,000 annually to put on. That’s why the group is seeking sponsors to make the 2014 series possible.

“The Morgan Hill Downtown Association is always looking for ways to bring people downtown and the Thursday Night Music Series is a great option for families and friends to gather,” said Cheri Devlin, president of the board of directors for the MHDA. “Who can beat a free outdoor concert, ideal weather — and a variety of dinner options to choose from surrounding you?”

Becoming a sponsor and helping the MHDA support the Thursday Night music series can start as low as $400. Supporting the concert series with financial assistance is a marketing investment that helps local businesses build their brand locally, Devlin said.

“Sponsoring the Thursday Night Music Series is an inexpensive way to put your business’s name in front of locals as well as out-of-towners sending a clear message — we support downtown Morgan Hill,” she said. “And frankly, without the sponsors — the show won’t go on, so we have even more reason to boast about how critical our sponsors are to the success of this event happening — which we intend on doing each week from the stage.”

Devlin said she is passionate about keeping the Thursday Night music series going because it adds so much value to the quality of life for everyone in Morgan Hill.

With the MHDA’s involvement, the downtown has evolved with more community events over the last decade with two farmer’s markets — one on Saturday and a Thursday night one that will start in April.

Other MHDA events throughout the year include a wine stroll, a beer crawl and the family-friendly Safe Night on Halloween  for parents to bring young trick-or-treaters.

“We are focused on making downtown Morgan Hill the place to be Thursday nights,” Devlin said. “Our goal is to kick off the Thursday Farmer’s Market this spring and carry that momentum into the summer with the Thursday Night Music Series, which we truly believe is the perfect combination for getting people downtown early and staying for music and dinner.”
