Image result for Pintello Family Odd COupleThe Pintello’s are at it again bringing Neil Simon’s 1965 beloved comedy “The Odd Couple” as their latest production.

Well directed by Rod Pintello who brings wonderful timing into the production where two characters bounce fast funny one liners that keeps the audience amused for more two hours. Dave Leon (Oscar Madison) and Charley Gilmore (Felix Unger) play the two best friends who start to live together when Felix turns up at Oscar’s apartment on Oscar’s weekly porker night. Felix claims his wife has thrown him out and wants a divorce. He is threatening suicide. Oscar an ultimate slob offers to let Felix, who is an uber-organized cleaner-upper, move in with him. The difference in personalities make for hedges between the two for hilarious moments.

The poker buddies are played by Dunne Holt, Doug Doughty, Mike Perry, Peter Mandel who add first-rate comedy additions. With Jenny Arbizu and Sarah Smith as the British upstairs neighbors who Felix creates a date from hell with adding more fun. Gilmore’s Felix and Leon’s Oscar carry their roles with fine timing and delivery.

The set of Oscar’s New York apartment is accurate in detail and Felix cleaning the mess during the intermission is an added tweak of subtle comedy. Pintello’s productions of their comedy theatre will always have a Pintello either directing, acting, working props, sound, lighting and ticketing somewhere in the staging. They continually offer at least four solid comedy productions a season.
