Like fresh spring flowers, it is good to see more music popping up in many places in Morgan Hill and Gilroy.

‘Tis the season for music. Mama Mia’s will have their very successful patio music series once again from 6 to 9 p.m. every Thursday June through August.

Many of the wineries have already been dabbling with music on various weekends except and one of the largest proponents of live music Clos La Chance has been consistent with live music every weekend. Other wineries with music in place include Seeker Vineyards and Satori Cellars.

The Mushroom Mardi Gras at the end of May already has their line-up set for this year’s event (full line-up with details in a future column) once again featuring two stages jam packed with music both Saturday and Sunday the last weekend of May.

The 2019 Downtown Morgan Hill Wine Stroll April 27 will include 11 music locations for this upcoming stroll. That is up from the usual four in years past. A wider range of music is lined up and included this year is the South Valley Symphony. This year, members are paired down to smaller groups playing classical pieces. You can purchase tickets at Bubbles and other places throughout the downtown area.

88 Keys Café & Piano Bar has been hosting the open mic from 6 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday with many of the regulars from the former GVA open mic and many new musicians stopping in to show off their musical abilities.

Kelly Brewing Company on Fourth Street has a large space inside and a lovely outdoor patio with music from a variety of bands planned on specific weekends. Their grand opening March 9 offered a day of music to the huge crowd of people coming and going all day and into the evening.

Bubbles Wine & Brew is planning a music series for their recently installed back yard patio with many wine specials and a variety of bites. The line-up is solid and very local.

If you love good food from our neighbor nation to the south and good times with friends and family, check out Sinaloa Mexican Restaurant in downtown Morgan Hill. It continues its local tradition of offering live music on weekends and will soon be opening their outdoor patio. It’s a perfect outing when it the days start to get warmer and you want some fun in the sun.

Nor Cal Music, Inc. is coming through town and producing a three-week festival which will be held in Morgan Hill and surrounding Bay Area locations from May 17 through June 10. There will be more than 70 musicians from 20 different countries performing daily at local venues. I will have more information and details in late April or early May.
