Critical Update regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Shelter In Place Order Now In Affect
The health and safety of our residents, businesses, employees, and visitors is our top priority and we continue to be proactive in helping to ensure the health and safety of the community.
We encourage the community to stay calm, safe, and share information with your friends and neighbors who may not have access to social media or other resources.
In order to slow the spread of COVID-19 to the maximum extent possible, the Santa Clara County’s Public Health Officer, along with the Health Officers of the five adjacent counties and the City of Berkeley, issued a shelter in place order. The order went into effect today, March 17, and is expected to last through April 7. In response to the County Order, the City of Morgan Hill has closed facilities to the public for non-essential services starting today, Tuesday, March 17, 2020. The City will continue to provide essential city services, including public safety and utility services. Detailed information relating to City of Morgan Hill services can be found below.
Morgan Hill residents with urgent, non-emergency questions or concerns are directed to call or text 408.767.6404. This number will be monitored regularly, Monday – Friday, during the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Messages will be responded to within 24 hours, during weekdays.
Santa Clara County residents should call 2-1-1 for public health information on COVID-19.

In addition to avoiding contracting or spreading COVID-19 , our mental, emotional and physical health are just as important during this time. We want to encourage everyone to reach out, following social distancing guidelines, to your friends, loved ones, neighbors, and those people in your life that may be isolated to share information and be of service.

The following City facilities/services remain open to the public or continue to operate. Please note the most recent changes are BOLD:
  • Parks in general, including the dog park will remain open under the allowance for outdoor activities. Please observe social distancing guidelines
  • The Senior Lunch Nutrition Program has transitioned to boxed to-go lunches only until further notice. Participants can pick up lunch anytime between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm at the Senior Center.
  • Utility Payments – Online or via drop box outside City Hall

* Meeting Guidelines
In accordance with Executive Order N-25-20 and guidance from the California Department of Public Health on gatherings, remote public participation is allowed. We will address the Order in the following ways:
Members of the public may physically attend, observe, and provide public comment at meetings at the Morgan Hill City Council Chamber, however no one who is sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19 infection will be allowed to attend the meeting. Individuals who are at higher risk from infection should also avoid gatherings, including public meetings.
The City has increased the space between the Council Chamber audience chairs and placed disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer in the Chamber for the public’s use. Attendees are expected to comply with directions from City staff with regard to seating arrangements and other social distancing measures pursuant to Santa Clara Public Heath Officer’s Coronavirus Directives.
The City Council and Planning Commission meetings will be live-streamed on Channel 17 and on the City’s website. Those members of the public wishing to participate remotely may do so via Zoom electronic meetings in the following ways; by either logging onto https://zoom.us/j/597450134 and enter Meeting ID: 597450134 or by calling in (669) 900-9128 enter Meeting ID: 597450134#.
Public comment for City Council meetings will be accepted via email to ccpubliccomment@morganhill.ca.gov and/or through the chat feature of the Zoom electronic meeting during the meeting, prior to the close of public comment on an item, and read into the record during public comment.
