County of Santa Clara Public Health Department Announces Two New Deaths from COVID-19 in Santa Clara County

The County of Santa Clara Public Health Department is announcing two new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to eight in Santa Clara County. The seventh death was an adult male in his 80s who was hospitalized on Tuesday, March 3 and passed away on Tuesday, March 17. The eighth death was an adult male in his 70s. The Public Health Department expresses our condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.

The County is also reporting seven new cases, bringing our total number of cases to 196. We continue to work closely with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State of California Department of Public Health, and other partners as the new coronavirus situation continues to change.
