You don’t need to leave the country to use your passport; you don’t need to leave Morgan Hill. In fact, you don’t even need to get off your couch. Through the Buy Local Campaign, the city, Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, Morgan Hill Downtown Association and Visit Morgan Hill have teamed up to give you the “Morgan Hill Holiday Shopping Passport!”

How does it work? You enter a participating store, spend a minimum of $20 and present your passport at checkout to receive an “x” through a square. If you purchase $40 two squares will be marked, if $60 three squares will be marked. Customers max out at four squares from a single business before needing to obtain signatures from another participating location. Make a purchase online? No problem. Simply attach a copy of the receipt to your passport to verify your purchase amount. Once fully signed, completed passports are submitted to one of four locations to be entered into three separate prize drawings. Shoppers are encouraged to submit multiple passports to increase their chances of winning and their patronization of participating businesses.

Where do you get your passport? That’s easy! A Morgan Hill Holiday Shopping Passport can be clipped out of this issue of Morgan Hill Life on page 11. Passports can also be found in the Morgan Hill Times, picked up from participating businesses and the chamber office or downloaded and printed from www.buylocalmorganhill.com or www.morganhill.org.

Why a Shopping Passport? The Holiday Passport Program encourages residents to make a total of 16 $20 purchases at participating businesses between Dec. 1 and Jan. 1, resulting in a $320 investment in buying locally. Where you shop this holiday season matters. Put some “miles” on your passport and help to “preserve our town one purchase at a time!”
