David Anthony Gerard passed away peacefully with his wife and sons by his side at Stanford Hospital in California on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the age of 70. David is survived by his wife, Miho; his sons, Justin and Pierre; and his siblings, Ann, Ellen, Joyce, Leon, and Richard. David was born Nov. 13, 1950 in Wolcott, Connecticut. David earned a B.A. with High Honors in the College of Social Studies at Wesleyan University, a Ph.D. and M.A. in Social-Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute, and a Diplôme d’études approfondies in Psychology and Education from The University of Strasbourg. He worked for most of his career as an organizational psychologist and a consultant. David served one term from 2014 on the Morgan Hill Unified School District Board of Education. He represented California’s 19th Congressional District in 2016 and 2020 as a delegate for former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. David loved baseball, travel, politics, and the life of the mind.
