My family moved to Morgan Hill in 2007 the week that our community’s library had its grand opening. The Morgan Hill Library is one of my favorite places to go in our city.
When I come to the library, I like looking at the books, movies, and CDs that are on the shelves. I especially like checking out the Magic Treehouse series of books in the kids’ section.
We have a really nice library with all the mural paintings and sculptures that decorate it. I especially like the sculpture of the girl sitting on a mushroom reading a book that greets people outside by the front entrance. I like the architecture because it’s really big so the building stands out. It’s quiet inside. I have to be quiet because some people might be reading or doing an important task. I want to be respectful.
Covering the walls of the Morgan Hill Library are sayings from famous people about libraries and books. One of my favorite quotes on display is by the author Jorge Luis Borges. It says, “I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.”
Although I don’t use the library yet for my school work, I know I will in the future. I often see my older sister Katie, who is in the sixth grade, go to the library because she has a lot of book reports and projects at school.
The librarians are nice. Sometimes I forget to bring my library card and so they ask my address, my name, and my phone number and then they let me check out the books and movies.
I like the Friends of the Library bookstore, too. I go to the kids section and see if there are new, cool books for kids like me.
The Morgan Hill Library is a cool place to get books, CDs, and DVDs. Check it out.
