An excessive heat watch has been issued in the area beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday evening. Daytime highs in the 90s to 100s are expected with little relief in the evenings. The heat is particularly dangerous to the elderly, small children and those with medical conditions.
The Centennial Recreation Center, the Senior Center and the Community and Cultural Center are all designated cooling centers and the lobby area are available for the public to use as a place to find relief from the heat.
