• The Live Oak Emerald Regime holds bingo games at the Britton Middle School Auditorium, 80 W. Central Ave., to support band programs. Oct. 4
Tarantula Fest
• Come to the annual Henry W. Coe State Park Tarantula Fest and meet fuzzy, friendly eight-legged guests of honor. Take a nature walk with a naturalist and search for tarantulas, or go on a geocaching hike. Enjoy live music. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Coe headquarters site at the end of East Dunne Avenue — about 10-mile drive east of Morgan Hill.
Cioppino Feed
• The Kiwanis Club of Morgan Hill’s 13th annual all-you-can-eat Cioppino Feed takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. with a social beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Masonic Center, 380 W. Dunne Ave. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Advanced tickets are $50 each, or $90 a couple. At the door tickets at $55. Tickets are available by calling (408) 718-6155. Seating is limited.
It’s reunion time
• The Live Oak High School Class of 1969 is planning its 45th reunion. Join classmates at Mama Mia’s in Morgan Hill for an evening of rekindling friendships, a tasty Italian buffet dinner and music in the outdoor patio. Cost is $65 each. Library book sale
• Find a great read at the Morgan Hill Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 660 W. Zumbathon
• A Zumbathon sponsored by the Youth Action Council will be held from 4 to 4:45 p.m. for kids and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for teens and adults. The event benefits the YAC’s 2015 Senior Citizen Ball. The cost is $5 for children and $10 for teens and adults. The event takes place at the Centennial Recreation Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave. Register at the CRC, the CCC or the Aquatics Center. Doggie Dip Day
• Have your dog make a splash at Doggie Dip Day at the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center. Session 1 for small dogs weighing less than 50 pounds is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Session 2 for large and senior dogs is from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Space is limited. The cost is $8 per dog in advance, $10 the day of the event. Human friends are $2 and there’s a two dog maximum. Must bring proof of vaccines. Handlers must be 16 or older. Third Annual Gourdfest
• Featured during this event is a “make and take” for children, where, for a nominal fee, children can make an art object from a gourd and take it home. Also featured are educational presentations and demonstrations for children and adults, as well as booths where craft ready and finished art gourds are for sale. Wedding Fair scheduled
• The public, especially those planning on getting married, is invited to a Vintage Wedding Fair at Villa Mira Monte, 17860 Monterey Road. Prepare for a disaster
• Following a large scale emergency, individuals and families will need to be self sufficient for a minimum of three days. The Community Emergency Response Team training will teach how to respond and help the community following a disaster.The CERT curriculum delivers emergency preparedness skills and trains students in basic disaster response skills. Distilled spirits tasting
• The Morgan Hill Community Foundation is hosting a distilled spirits tasting, food pairing and Q & A with Venus Spirits CEO and Founder Sean Venus. Tickets are $45 and proceeds benefit the Morgan Hill Community Foundation. Tickets can be purchased at www.morganhillcf.org. Venus Spirits is a Santa Cruz-based distiller creating hand-crafted, artisanal tequila, whiskey and gin. The fundraising event takes place at 6 p.m. at Rosy’s at the Beach. 17320 Monterey Road. The bar area starts promoting the brand at 5:30 pm and guests who have purchased tickets join Venus and the MHCF for the tasting/pairing in the back room.

Autumn in Provence
• Saint Louise Regional Hospital is hosting a special event, “Autumn in Provence,” beginning at 4 p.m. at the Chiala Family Estate in Morgan Hill. The event also will be a “merci” to the Daughters of Charity for 125 years of compassionate service in Santa Clara County. A champagne reception with hors d’oeuvres precedes dinner by Chef Michael Miller. Throughout the evening, attendees will enjoy wine tasting sponsored by multiple wineries. There will be drawings, and a live auction, featuring something for everyone, including a trip to Paris.
