The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce’s Dec. 4 breakfast at the Community and Cultural Center brought in many gifts for financially needy students in the Morgan Hill Unified School District. The holiday gift drive is being coordinated by Cecelia Ponzini, co-founder with her husband Gary Ponzini of the Edward “Boss” Prado Foundation which supports local families by providing food and clothes and other needs through her Cecelia’s Closet program.
“There are 20 locations and just last night BookSmart got a hold of us and said they wanted to be with us also,” Cecelia said. “So on Dec. 15 all the toys we’ve collected will be taken to Cecelia’s Closet where the volunteers and I will count them and sort them and take them to local grade schools — San Martin/Gwinn and P.A. Walsh — so the families will have a merry Christmas. This is something we want to do every year until we cover all the elementary schools.”
