Bingo benefits seniors
• Bingo is played at the Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road, to raise funds to benefit the Morgan Hill Senior Center. Great Decisions
• Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs and provides background information and policy options on the eight most critical issues facing America. Zentangle Art Class
• Zentangle is a simple-to-learn, fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. No artistic experience required. This introduction to Zentangle class takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at BookSmart, 80 E. Second St. The fee is $35 plus a $10 materials fee. To register, please call BookSmart at (408) 778-6467.

Feb. 6
Winter book sale
• Friends of the Morgan Hill Library Winter Book Sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, l660 W. Main Ave. All books are $1 or less, children’s books are .10 each. At 2 p.m. there is a bag sale. A bag of books is $5 with a library book bag, $4 if you bring your own standard size bag. There is a member only preview from 9 to 10 a.m. before the sale opens to the public and memberships are available at the door. Teachers and nonprofits may take books for free at the end of the sale but must pre-register with Carol at (408) 782-9029.

• The next coffee with Mayor Steve Tate takes place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at BookSmart, 80 E. Second St. Steve’s guest will be Mayor Pro Tem Rich Constantine. The mayor’s coffees offer residents an opportunity to chat in an informal and relaxed environment. There is no structure,, everyone is given an opportunity to provide input, ask questions or make statements.

Meet author Meg Groeling
• Author Meg Groeling will sign copies of her book, “The Aftermath of Battle: The Burial of the Civil War Dead,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at BookSmart, 80 E. Second St. The answer to the question of where all the bodies were buried is one of the most complicated stories of the Civil War. This is not just the story of a nation’s attempt to come to grips with wholesale death, this is the story of bodies strewn across the battlefield in the hot summer sun — and the urgent need to do something about it.

Zen Drawing Club
• The Zen Drawing Club is open to the public to see what Zentangle is all about. There is no experience required. Introduction Zentangle classes are offered periodically at BookSmart, 80 E. Event benefits Learning and Loving Education Center
• Bubbles Wine Bar, at the corner of Fifth Street and Monterey Road, is hosting this charity event from 3 to 8 p.m. Enjoy tapas plate flatbreads, brie crostinis, pulled pork sliders and more, with proceeds donated to the Learning and Loving Education Center. The $25 ticket at the door gets a tapas plate, and a glass of red, white, sparkling wine, beer or soft drink.

Valentine crafts for kids
• BookSmart is offering its popular Valentine Making Workshop from 10 to 11:30 a.m., 80 E. Second St. Make fancy cards and a special Valentine project that’s sure to delight. Please RSVP to (408) 778-6467 to ensure space and supplies. The fee is $4 per child. Parent participation is requested for children 5 years and younger. Parents of older children are asked to stay in the store during the workshop. You may also drop-in to the workshop if space and supplies are available.

Meditation workshop
• The Mind and Meditation workshop teaches practical yoga, breathing and meditation, as a simple sequence. Learn to de-stress, re-energize and take home simple, effective and powerful practices from 3 to 4 p.m. This four-week workshop has been designed for those looking to experience meditation for the first time as well as seasoned mediators. It takes place at the Centennial Recreation Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave. Tickets are $40 for CRC members, $50 for non members. Chocolate, wine for Valentine
