A group of middle-schooler friends at Saint Catherine’s School will put on an outstanding produce giveaway and soup supper event through St. Joseph’s Table.
The free produce giveaway for low-income families, seniors and the homeless in our community will be held 1 to 5 p.m. Friday March 18 at the Parish Center at 17400 Peak Ave. It will be followed by a Soup Supper organized by the Italian Catholic Federation from 6 to 7 p.m.
“St. Joseph’s Table is unique because it is organized entirely by middle schoolers with guidance from the Italian Catholic Federation,” St. Joseph’s Table Project Leader Trinity Chester told us. “It gives us an opportunity to improve our leadership skills. We get to make important decisions and think creatively as a group. It’s great to know we’re helping people, especially when we get to meet those people at the produce giveaway.”
