Learn About MH’s History
- Experience the rich history of the buildings in downtown from 10 a.m. to noon. Walk into the past and learn about the buildings and the characters who built, owned and operated them through the years. Tours are free, donations welcome. Meet at the 3rd Street Plaza outside Coffee Guys.

Raincoats and Rubber Boots
- Float boats and rubber ducks in the creek, go on a scavenger hunt and learn about critters that live in the water from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., rain or shine, at Henry Coe State Park, Hunting Hollow entrance. Bring a bike and helmet (a few loaners available), and ride the Mountain Bike Challenge course under supervision of experienced bikers. Thee is a $6 parking fee. Details: www.coepark.net.
Get Children Engaged in Adventures
- Need ideas to get kids engaged in local adventures? Cindy Miller, a former teacher and author of “A Children’s Discovery Book of Morgan Hill,” will discuss writing her book and give suggestions on how to use this learning tool from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hiram Morgan Hill House, 17860 Monterey Road. The goal is to encourage family trips and learn fun facts about a variety of local sites. Stay for a docent-led tour of Villa Mira Monte. They also offer wine tasting from noon to 5 p.m., showcasing Paradise Valley Vineyards and Mann Cellars. Tasting fees are $5 per person per winery, applied to any purchase of wine. Pack a lunch and make a day of it.

Grow Tomatoes Successfully
- Increase your success in growing tomatoes and peppers at this class from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave. New varieties along with different “types” will be discussed. You will learn how correct planting methods, pest control and irrigation can produce healthy and productive plants.

Mobile Outreach for Veterans
- The South Santa Clara Valley Memorial District, established in 1946 to operate the Veterans Memorial Hall, is hosting the VA Mobile Medical Outreach Team from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Hall, 74 W. Sixth St. The event will include medical professionals, counseling, benefits assistance, and some local businesses with services specifically for veterans, who need to bring either their VA card or a DD214 for proof of service. From Seeds to Plants
- Learn how to grow healthy vegetables from seed and get a start on a bountiful summer garden at this class from 10 a.m. to noon, at the St. Louise Hospital Teaching and Demo Garden, 9400 No Name Uno Way. Starting your own seedlings is fun, economical, and broadens what you can grow since many varieties are available only from seed. You’ll get advice about containers and potting mixes as well as tips on the lighting, heat, and moisture needs of sprouting seeds and seedlings.

- Plan your summer garden now at this class from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Gilroy Library, 350 W. 6th St. Easy to grow vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, beans, cucumbers and squash will be discussed.
