Joel Shane Nelson
Joel Shane Nelson, son of Ron and Darlene Nelson, was born December 1, 1968 in Gilroy, Calif., raised in Morgan Hill, Calif. On September 9, 2020, he passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. He leaves his wife of eight years, Jennifer and their two fur babies Ben and Sasha. Also, his parents Ron and Darlene, sister Kristina Hernandez, brother-in-law Hector Hernandez, nephew Aidan Hernandez and niece Leilani Hernandez. He also leaves mother-in-law Emma Saldana, sister-in-law Cynthia Saldana and brother-in-law Chris Saldana, many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Virgil and Dorothy Nelson and Wylie and Rose Kirk, also father-in-law Alfred Saldana Jr. and brother-in-law Alfred Saldana III.
Joel graduated from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill in 1987. He went on to work in sheet metal for many years. He also drove long-haul semis and was a self-employed Process Server at the time of his death.
Joel was a die-hard Oakland Raiders fan for many years. Loved to BBQ, spend time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
