Even when not having the best of days herself, Lindsy prides herself at being her clients’ “Day Maker” and encourages her team to do the same.

Local girl does good is the cliché for Lindsy Palmer, owner of Dezign Studio in downtown Morgan Hill. Born in San Jose, Lindsy moved here with her family in 1998. She then went through the Morgan Hill Unified School system from Paradise to Britton to Sobrato.
During teen years she fell in love with the idea of pursuing a hair stylist career. Right out of high school at 17 she was accepted at the AVEDA school in 2009. Her first job was at a salon in Los Gatos. However, it wasn’t a great fit and she turned to then Dezign owner Julie Wolfsmith for advice. Julie had no available stations at the time, but in 2011 the sea parted and Lindsy had the opportunity to start working in the hometown she loves. Not only that, but her parents owned the bagel shop next door.
About five years later kismet found her again. Julie was thinking about retiring. One day she asked Lindsy what she would do if Julie closed the shop “tomorrow.” Our heroine’s reply was, “why close, I’ll make an offer,” and so it came to be.
Lindsy took over the salon in January 2021, not an el primo moment in time for hair salons as the COVID Pandemic took over our world in the next couple of months. However, without despair she was able to hold out. When back in business now being a new owner, she admits it was a challenge navigating each individual’s personality and being the most positive aspect of their day. Even when not having the best of days herself, Lindsy prides herself at being her clients’ “Day Maker” and encourages her team to do the same.
As a stylist Lindsy makes that personal connection. In-depth consultation helps understand clients’ wants and needs.
She chose AVEDA for it’s international, high performance, sustainable brand that’s completely organic and vegan. Like AVEDA, wanting to give back, business goals include wanting to apprentice young minds with the desire of her passion, to be successful in a hair styling career.
Dezign Studio has six chairs and seven stylists including Lindsy. Services include that of barber, women’s cut, balayage, gray blending, free hand paint and extensions.
