Happy summer, everyone!

I was recently asked by a new business owner if there were any business organizations in Morgan Hill. That got me started thinking about how our quaint little town has a plethora of small, mom and pop, and home-based businesses. Outside of print advertising like on the pages of Morgan Hill Life, personal referrals and word-of-mouth are the best ways to attract customers. MHDA member LeTip is an organization that helps you do just that. Its members’ focus is on passing tips to each other and offering creative ideas to help everyone’s business grow.

LeTip is international and each chapter is run like a business. Its structured weekly meetings drive their success by turning members into an informed, engaged sales force.

At each meeting you give your own 30-second commercial and a 10-minute presentation on a rotating basis, honing your public speaking skills and fine-tuning your brand messaging.

Call it karma, but the underlying principle is that by your helping others succeed, you succeed. They even track annual tip revenue generated. Last fiscal year that was a whopping $234,987. So, you know it works.

From lawyer to dog walker to designer, LeTip has the perfect place for your business in one of their more than 740 business categories.  Morgan Hill’s group of 15 meets most Wednesday’s at Country Waffles starting at 7:01 a.m.. One time per month they meet via Zoom.

Our own Renee Roberts of Design Factory Graphics (a few doors down from the Dollar Tree) has been a member since Jesus was in bare feet, LOL!

Actually, she joined by chance in 2000 when someone in her business category moved. Since then, a huge source of referrals and income has been the result of her LeTip membership.

She’s been in business almost 25 years creating and designing all sorts of print material to include posters, signs, banners, business cards, and meeting the print needs of local organizations.

She loves to create and has fun doing it. Customers commonly say how friendly and easy it is to work with Renee. Her charm meshes well with her creative attention to detail, and she enjoys helping customers design what both they and she loves.

She was raised in Morgan Hill and obviously loves our town and the community spirit. She went on a hike recently and while looking down from the mountain it struck her how the community of Morgan Hill neatly fits in the valley like an oasis from the rest of the world.

Although it seems like she works 24/7 (she’s emailed me in the past at 2 a.m. with a finished project), Renee’s not always in the shop, so it’s best to reach her at (408) 686-0780 or [email protected].

And if you want to put more dollars in your pocket and generate psychic income from the great feeling you get helping others, check out LeTip. Visit the website at www.letipmorganhill.com to see the movers and shakers in the local chapter. RSVP to the meeting of your choice and be treated to a free breakfast.

Or you can reach out to Membership Chair John Norgard with Guild Mortgage at (408) 390-1913 with any questions.

That’s all for this month, folks. Until next time, enjoy life to its fullest because it seems we’re only here for a minute.
