Morgan Hill City Council Candidate Marilyn Librers

Marilyn Librers

“Why Should South Valley Citizens Give Me Their Vote?”

I am a 46 year resident of Morgan Hill and I am running for City Council – District D.  Although our City has districts once I am in office I will represent the entire City in my decisions making.

I have 8 years’ experience on the City Council having served from 2008-2016.  I’m not happy with the direction our City is heading and I would like to make a difference maintaining our small town charm.  I support only slow smart residential growth. To enhance the City’s revenue, I would like to see small manufacturing and R&D complexes open in the industrial area of the City.  With any type of building, we need to be able to support the infrastructure that goes with growth.  Police and fire safety along with sufficient water, road maintenance, educational needs and traffic concerns are items I will address.  Also I want to encourage good paying jobs within our City limits.

Downtown is especially important to me.  I support the merchants as I am on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Association.  I would like Morgan Hill to be walkable and bike friendly.  I understand parking in the downtown is challenging at times so let’s change this with a plan for additional spaces.  Also let’s see if we can address public transportation by increasing VTA service and Cal Train service.  We will reduce our carbon foot print with public transportation options that make sense.

I am dedicated to openness and fairness to all.  I will service in a positive and respective way towards all members of the community.  I believe in inclusiveness and diversity as the make-up of our City.  I would be honored to represent Morgan Hill as the next Councilmember for District D.
