Morgan Hill Unified School District Candidate Jim Dill
As an educator, and resident of Morgan Hill for 18 years, I am sensitive to the plight of our student’s and teacher’s safety, therefore I am running for position on the Morgan Hill Unified School Board, Governing Board Member Area 2.
I earned my doctorate degree in Education from the University of San Francisco. Currently, I am pursuing a double masters in Dispute Resolution and Legal Studies at Pepperdine University. As an educator, teaching at San Jose State University, West Valley College, DeAnza College, Mission College, and the Employment Development Department, I am acutely aware of the plight of our student’s and teacher’s safety.
I am also a member of Santa Clara County Association of Realtors, Director of the California Association of Realtors and Trustee of the Santa Clara Association of Realtors Foundation. My volunteer work with The Professional Standards Committee, Code of Ethics & Arbitration, Chair of the Professional Development and Vice-Chair of the Education Advisory Committee, and the Finance & Risk Management Committee, demonstrates I collaborate well to make the best decision possible.
The choices made by the MHUSD School Board must be fiscally responsible and forward focused. I will support programs that will provide a support system to develop well rounded and motivated students as well as an environment for professional development. I will support programs that will enable an environment for our students to continue studying in a safe and healthy environment.
The choices are not easy and include defining answers to these important questions; compensation and resources for teachers, empowering students, providing an environment to learn and a curriculum that enables them to engage in their learning.
I have the skills, experience and desire to make a greater contribution to the welfare and stability of our community.
