Morgan Hill Unified School District Candidate Nancy Altman
I am running for school board because voters deserve a choice and I’m an excellent choice.
I have deep familiarity with MHUSD as a parent and educator. I raised two children whoattended three MHUSD schools from kindergarten through high school. I know that the teachers were the pivotal factor in my boys’ educational experiences. Hiring and retaining excellent teachers is imperative for our students to reach their fullest potential. Moreover, learning is not “one size fits all.” My boys each benefited from different approaches and currulica as they moved through school. I recognize that each student is an individual. We were an original family at the Charter School of Morgan Hill, with my son starting fourth grade on a patio as the site wasn’t yet ready for students. My broad perspective of different schools and systems and a deep knowledge of MHUSD will benefit the entire community if I am elected to the school board.
I worked at Britton Middle School as a Special Education teacher, assistant principal, mentor teacher, and basketball coach for 23 years. Last year, I was an assistant principal at Ann Sobrato High School for the spring quarter. From these experiences, I know MHUSD and have the knowledge, ability and experience to enable school staff to provide the best possible instruction and experiences for all students. Schools and students face unique challenges. One of the biggest challenges for educators is finding an appropriate solution to these unique challenges.
By keeping our minds open and focusing on the goal of all students realizing their fullest potential, we can make changes to better support students. I have the experience, empathy, and expertise to make this happen, but I need your help. Please vote for Nancy Altman for MHUSD School Board to help all students in Morgan Hill.
