Morgan Hill Unified School District Candidate Pamela Carroll-Gardiner
I am a third-generation Northern Californian and proud American who loves this country and our beautiful Morgan Hill community. As a member of the MHUSD since 1998, my purpose in seeking a position on our school board is to be a champion for parents and their children.
My background in running a family business has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience in navigating complex business transactions, making me an ideal candidate to navigate the financial/legal issues and initiatives as they relate to school curriculum; and as a loving mother and parent, I am also a concerned citizen. I’m running for school board because I want to represent the values of parents in my community and will advocate for 1) higher academic standards, 2) transparency and engagement in all curriculum, school programs, textbooks and library books and 3) safe/secure/respectful classroom environments.
Parental rights are the fundamental right in deciding what is best for your children. My focus will be to give parents a true seat at the table in all matters of parental concern. I will collaborate with parents and teachers while working diligently with the district to promote the success and well-being of our children. I support critical thinking, common sense and merit-based grading in the educational process. I also support age appropriate instruction and curricula. I will encourage and support teachers in continuing to nurture independent learners/problem solvers.
Traditional values such as hard-work, personal responsibility, equality, merit, fairness and excellence effectuate a culture in which individuals can unite by their common humanity, citizenship, liberty, and affection for one another. We need to do everything we can to function like a family, full of heart. As trustee, my door will always be open to parents and teachers. I welcome your input and would appreciate your support.
