I’ve recently become aware of a fantastic on-demand ride service that will transport riders between numerous fixed points throughout Morgan Hill for a maximum fare of $2.50 or less.

The Morgan Hill city staff and Valley Transportation Agency have worked hard to implement this two-year pilot program funded by a competitive $1.5 million grant and the city of Morgan Hill.

The service operates from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and can be scheduled through their app, website, or by calling (408) 330-3302. The app will direct you to the nearest pickup point and drop point, all of which are just a short walk within nearly any location in the city limits.

Simply arrive at the departure point at the scheduled time and watch for the well-marked white Dodge caravan to pull up to the curb. If your credit card is on file, just hop in and off you go. If you’d prefer, you can give the driver exact change.

If you have a bike, wheelchair, or service animal, all are welcome. Their app allows you to track the progress of your van and even updates its ETA. If your plans change, simply cancel the pickup in advance and receive a credit for a future ride.

The MoGo drivers have received rave reviews and must pass a background check and have completed appropriate training.

To download their app, go to www.morgan-hill.ca.gov/2329/MoGo and register yourself and your credit card. Or you can register and schedule a ride on line at: book.mogo.rideco.com.

Whether you are taking a quick trip from Caltrain or to the park entrance at the farthest reaches of Holiday Lake Estates, this is a fantastic service and an amazing bargain. I’d encourage everyone in Morgan Hill to log into www.mogomh.com, research the service, and then register for this outstanding rideshare service.
