Brew crawl greetings, everyone!

Yup. ‘Tis the season of hops and happiness. Time again for the Morgan Hill Downtown Association’s annual Brew Crawl extravaganza as the committee applies final touches to drive the event home. This year we have 19 stops throughout town. Micro brews pouring again include our very own Kelly Brewing Company and TenFiveOne Cider Company.

Two great bands will be sharing their love as you enjoy crawling (pardon the pun) through downtown.  Undercover Band takes you back dancing to the ’80s, and then through the decades. They’ll be at Kelly’s.  Elima in Hawaiian is “beautiful”  …and that’s the magical vibe you’ll get from this hot Pacific Islands-rooted band offering a wide range of originals and covers. They’ll set up in the lanai at Rosy’s At The Beach.

Brew Crawl 2023 takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. SIRI says the high is to be 84, so a perfect afternoon to come downtown. Tickets are $65 in advance, purchased on-line through our website – www.mhdowntown.org. Check-in is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the 3rd Street quad.  It doesn’t matter where you start because we’re doing it all over town.

We’re only selling 900 tickets, so get yours now while they last. Cutting the grass, getting the car washed and your honey-do lists can wait a week. This is a great opportunity to spend time in our quaint shops, eateries and businesses that will be happy to see ya. Plus, you’re sure to meet friends and neighbors you haven’t seen in a while. So, enjoy and savor the experience.

And that’s not all. When disaster strikes, family pets can become victims too. It’s estimated more than 40,000 pets perish in fires each year from smoke asphyxiation. Air For Paws is a nonprofit dedicated to providing fire and rescue personnel with special resuscitation kits and specialized training that can save the lives of family pets and furry friends. During the Crawl, AFP is sponsoring a Doggie Costume Parade to help raise funds for this wonderful cause.

Entrance fee is $20. Check-in begins at 1 p.m. in the empty lot just north of Bubbles next to the church. The parade begins at 2 p.m. Categories are Most Creative Costume, Funniest Costume, Best Tail Wagger, Best Owner/Dog Costume Combo, and Crowd Favorite! Can’t make the parade? You can donate to Air For Paws at www.airforpaws.com.

Revenue generated from Brew Crawl helps MHDA keep the twinkle lights on creating that one-of-a-kind night-time ambiance downtown.  Hosting this event is costly and several businesses have stepped up to support the experience. Many thanks to our sponsors Silva Construction, D.R. Dominicini Construction, Design Factory Graphics, Ram Commercial Insurance, Bullet Wireless, Leal’s Lime Site Services, and your very own MHDA. Please remember to support these businesses for their contribution to the crawl.

Thanks so much to the MHDA Brew Crawl Committee and all the volunteers who have come forward to produce this fun event. You deserve to be identified personally, but there aren’t enough words on the page —LOL. And speaking of volunteers, we’re always on the hunt for help with MHDA events. You can reach us at (408) 779-3190.

That’s all for now, folks. We, the businesses of the downtown association, really hope you can make it to the Brew Crawl and look forward to seeing you there.
