Ribbon cutting will be planned once work is complete.

Dear Answer Man, I see the Hale Avenue extension road work has been done for some time but the road hasn’t opened. When will it open?

Dear When Will it Open. Answer Man emailed Chris

Ghione, public services director for the city, who said it will be after the Fourth of July holiday at the earliest.

The city anticipated opening the new Hale Avenue Extension between Main and Dunne avenues earlier this year, he said.

“While the roadway looks substantially complete, there are significant issues with underground utilities associated with the adjacent Valley Water flood control project where corrective work is required. Some of this work may require digging up and repaving sections of the roadway. Until this work is completed, the city cannot open the new Hale Avenue Extension. While a timeline is not yet available, the city and partners at Valley Water are doing their best to complete this work as quickly as possible. Information will be shared regarding the opening as soon as it is available.”

Ghione added that a ribbon cutting will be planned once the work is complete.

Hope that answers your question.
