Mark Turner

Mayor Mark Turner has announced his intent to run for re-election and is looking forward to continuing to serve the residents of Morgan Hill.

Turner said, “I’m proud to report that in a short 18-month period, we’ve added police officers to the streets to keep our community safe. Public safety has been my main priority. I stand with our law enforcement officers and will continue to make public safety a priority going forward.”

Scott Purvis, president of the Morgan Hill Police Officers’ Association, wrote in an endorsement letter, “Mayor Turner fully understands the needs of the community with the fundamental goal of keeping our city safe. Mark’s past support of public safety, coupled with his desire and commitment to the citizens of Morgan Hill are the primary reasons we are proud to formally endorse him.”

“It’s an honor working for the people of Morgan Hill,” said Turner. “During my last campaign, I made a commitment to be present and available to the community and over the last 18 months, I’ve had the privilege of meeting with hundreds of residents, business leaders, merchants, non-profit leaders, community members, and faith leaders, to talk about their concerns, ideas, and vision for Morgan Hill.”

Armando Garcia, a small business owner and resident of Morgan Hill for more than 30 years said, “Mayor Turner has consistently demonstrated a dedication to fostering an environment where businesses can thrive, families can grow, and everyone feels included and valued.”

District D City Council member, Marilyn Librers said, “The mayor’s enthusiasm and excitement for the community is contagious, his love for people is apparent, and his commitment and dedication to the success of Morgan Hill is undeniable.”

Turner indicated he will continue to support public safety, advance his Literacy Initiative, launch the Healthy Morgan Hill Initiative, continue working on a funding mechanism for public art, work closely with local business owners, and push to make Morgan Hill a premier destination for youth sports and recreation.

Turner is endorsed by CAL FIRE Local 2881, the Peace Officers Association of California, five former Morgan Hill mayors, past and present council members, as well as numerous business and community leaders.
