The Morgan Hill Community Foundation will recognize and honor local philanthropists at their 19th annual Philanthropy Night Event for the greater Morgan Hill area. This year the Philanthropy Awards Dinner will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 15, at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center.

The program will include a video montage showcasing and recognizing the work of about 20 organizations and their honoree volunteers, a review of grant awards to nonprofits supporting the local Morgan Hill area, and acknowledgment of donors and sponsors who enable these local grants. The program will conclude with an awards ceremony and presentation to each of the 2024 Philanthropist Honorees.

The Morgan Hill Community Foundation (MHCF) has conducted a celebration of philanthropy for the greater Morgan Hill area dating back to 2005.

This annual event provides recognition to individuals who have been nominated by their organization for impact in our local community.

This event will include both live presentation and pre-recorded segments to ensure an organized, fast-paced program. Focus will be placed on the stories and actions of the honorees who do heartfelt work in our area.  Jona Denz-Hamilton, local radio personality, will return as the Master of Ceremonies for the 18th year.

Established in 2002, the Morgan Hill Community Foundation is a non-profit philanthropic organization that connects donors with local needs for a lasting impact on the quality of life in our community.

The volunteer board of directors is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our community by serving as a catalyst for charitable causes, as well as an advocate for developing non-profit organizations who directly serve individuals and families in the Morgan Hill area.

The foundation is dedicated to a “give where you live” philosophy, emphasizing the connection of local resources with the needs of the Morgan Hill area.

“While I always look forward to our hosting this extraordinary celebration of community volunteers and their charities, this year’s program will have extra special meaning for all who attend, as we also will pay tribute to Rich Firato, Marty Cheek, and Mike Cox, whose extraordinary and countless gifts of charity and goodwill in our Morgan Hill community have truly improved the quality of all our lives,” said president of the Morgan Hill Community Foundation Rob Christopher. “They are, and forever will be, deeply missed.”

At Philanthropy Night, attendees will discover a wonderful mix of pre-recorded video presentations prepared by the nominating organization and the Philanthropy Honorees.

The MHCF board members collaborate with each organization to edit and incorporate the individual videos into a single video presentation format.

The video presentations are always impactful. Seeing the faces and hearing the stories of those who benefit from these organizations gives the community a deeper understanding of their important work.

Philanthropy Night is one of the Morgan Hill Community Foundation’s fundraising events, using sponsorships and ticket sales proceeds to support local non-profit grants.

The foundation operates a grants committee that assesses local non-profit requests alongside a community advisory committee, distributing available funds to support these organizations. Furthermore, the foundation is establishing a long-term grants fund to ensure sustained support for local non-profits.

Several individuals and organizations are providing support through sponsorships to this year’s event.  The Morgan Hill Community Foundation thanks and acknowledges these generous sponsors who are providing much needed funds for community non-profit grants.

Our sponsors include Lead Sponsors Ladera Grill and Persing Family Fund, as well as Anaerobe Systems, Edward Boss Prado Foundation, Silicon Valley Clean Energy, Neil Berman from Rucka, O’Boyle, Lombardo & McKenna, MG Constructors & Engineers, Graniterock, Jachimowicz Law Group, Pinnacle Bank, Heritage Bank of Commerce and South Bay Piping Industry.

“Local individuals, businesses and organizations generously support this event and our organization every year, board member and event chairman Tara Bevington said. “Their donations allow the MHCF to support the community through partnerships, grants, and projects.” Any individual or organization who would like to become a sponsor for this year’s event, can do so by contacting [email protected].

Tickets for the dinner event are limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis, often selling out quickly. You can find event details, sponsorship opportunities, including ticket purchase information, at www.morganhillcf.org.
