MHDA looks back at another successful year of events

Happy Holidays, fellow MoHillians.

Are you like me wondering where 2024 went?  It certainly was a blur. Reminiscing I wanted to share what your Morgan Hill Downtown Association was up to.

We’re proud of the remarkable successes of our cherished community events this year!

The Wine Stroll, Brew Crawl, Safe Trick-Or-Treat, keeping up with Downtown Twinkle Lights, and Holiday Business Decoration Contest have not only delighted residents but also continued to bring vibrancy and unity to our beloved downtown. Oh, did I mention the Christmas Selfie display on Third Street at the parking garage? Stop by with the friends and family for that old Kodak moment.

Wine Stroll once again was a smashing success! We welcomed hundreds of wine enthusiasts who meandered through downtown sampling an array of varietals from area wineries. It was an elegant blend of local flavor and community spirit. Participants enjoyed live music and a camaraderie of fellow wine lovers. Local businesses saw a significant boost in foot traffic, making it a win-win for all.

Brew Crawl drew craft beer aficionados from all across the region, eager to explore a diverse selection of brews. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as participants discovered new favorite beers while enjoying the lively downtown scene. It not only highlighted exceptional craft beer but fostered a sense of community among beer lovers.

Safe Trick-Or-Treat once again was a Halloween hit! Families and children of all ages dressed in their spookiest, funniest, and most creative costumes to partake in this beloved tradition. Downtown businesses opened their doors offering treats and friendly frights to all. Monterey was filled with laughter and delighted screams of children creating an enchanting and safe environment for all. This event not only provided a fun-filled evening but also showcased downtown’s commitment to safety and family-friendly activities.

We held our first Business Decoration Contest showcasing the creativity and holiday cheer of our local businesses.

Participating businesses adorned shops and restaurants with twinkling lights, garlands, and whimsical decorations.

Prize winners were Avery’s Ave., Ivori Boutique, Sushi Confidential and The Jewel Box. The competition not only brightened our town but also drew visitors eager to admire the festive sights and support local business. Be on the lookout for more contests in the future and your opportunity to vote for the Best In Show.

Spring is right around the corner and so is our next Wine Stroll set for Saturday, April 26.

Brew Crawl is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, so mark your calendars. Our newsletter reaches 6,000 people. If you want to get in the know about these and other pop-up events we have throughout the year, reach out to [email protected] and get on the distribution list. Always looking for MoHillians wanting to give back and volunteer.

MHDA events not only strengthen our community bonds but also highlight the unique charm and spirit of our quaint town. We look forward to continuing these traditions and introducing new ones to keep downtown vibrant. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers, businesses, and participants who made these events possible.

Here’s to many more successful events and a thriving downtown! Cheers, Morgan Hill!
