Ice-hockey athletes come to Morgan Hill to help. Sharks team forward Logan Couture is organizing a fundraiser to generate funds and awareness for the search efforts for missing Morgan Hill resident Sierra LaMar.

Couture, along with his Sharks teammates Tomas Hertl, Alex Stalock, Jason Demers, James Sheppard and Andrew Desjardins, will be signing autographs at Britton Middle School in Morgan Hill starting 7 p.m. Sept. 17.

Attendees can receive one autograph from each player in attendance on any item of their choosing for a $20 donation. All funds raised will be donated to the efforts to search for Sierra LaMar. Only cash will be accepted for admittance to the autograph session.

“We are all proud residents of the Bay Area and we want to send a message to Sierra’s family, her friends and the entire community that we have not forgotten about her,” Couture said.

Going to Levi’s Stadium for a 49er game? Then take the bus and leave the driving to VTA. The Valley Transportation Agency is furnishing three express buses for sports fans to enjoy the ride to and from 49er games.

The buses start at the Gilroy Transit Center, with stops in San Martin and Morgan Hill. The buses depart between 2 and 3:15 p.m. and arrive at the stadium about an hour later. Fares are $4 for adults, $1.75 for Youth and $1 for Seniors/Disabled. And of course there are return busses also, the last departing an hour after the game ends. Not only is this a great bargain, said Connie Rogers, a member of the VTA Citizens Advisory Committee, but it is the fastest, most efficient way to get to Levi’s Stadium. You can go to the VTA website at www.vta.org/getting-around/event-service/levis-stadium-bus-service-schedules for more information.
