• The Live Oak Emerald Regime holds bingo games at the Britton Middle School Auditorium, 80 W. Central Ave., to support band programs. • Join others in evening and Saturday morning walks. Meet at the Morgan Hill Shopping Center (Main and Hale avenues) for walks from 6 to 7 p.m. They also walk for 90 minutes Saturdays beginning at 9 a.m. The walks are at a moderate pace and include hills. • Create a healthy garden and enjoy a good harvest by learning about several practices that support the soil ecosystem from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Bird walk series
• Join Jane Haley, a National Park Service docent for more than 20 years and Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center volunteer, from 9 to 11 a.m. along Coyote Creek, north of Morgan Hill. Participants will have a chance to observe migratory birds as well as discover an appreciation of local birds, their habitat and ecological importance. Due to the terrain, these walks are not recommended for young children. Free financial planning seminar
• Know your current net worth? Saving enough for retirement? Up to date on the latest investments?  These questions and more will be discussed during Santa Clara County Library District’s upcoming financial planning seminars during the months of March, April and May. The seminars are presented by SCCLD and the Financial Planning Association Silicon Valley, a nonprofit organization helping consumers make intelligent financial decisions to achieve life goals. Learn about spreading wealth throughout generations at 7 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave. An estate planning seminar will be held at 7 p.m. April 15 at the library and retirement distribution at 7 p.m. May 13 at the library.

Apply for scholarship
• The Morgan Hill Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering a scholarship to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders May 28-30, 2015, at the University of Maryland. Candidates should be a sophomore or junior in a college or university and available to speak to the Morgan Hill Branch during the 2015-2016 school year. Deadline is March 16. • The Morgan Hill Community Foundation welcomes wine lovers to “Rhone Varietals: Taste, Experience, Enjoy!” an evening of fun, tasty bites and some of the best samples of Rhone Valley varietals grown locally. Grants, scholarships available
• The Morgan Hill Community Foundation is accepting applications for its annual spring grant cycle, which disburses awards to local, qualifying nonprofits. Deadline is March 20. Submission requirements and application information are available at www.morganhillcf.org. The MHCF now also offers scholarships through the Morgan Hill Unified School District’s “Common Scholarship Application” available at each high school’s career counseling center.

March 21
South Valley Wine Auction
• Buy your tickets now for the 17th annual premiere food and wine event of the South Valley to benefit Morgan Hill Unified School District Athletic program. Presented by the South Valley Athletic Foundation. Tickets cost $50 in advance or $60 at the door. Visit www.southvalleywineauction.org.

April 11
Book launch party
• Join Gabriela Isabela Rodrigues and others for a book launching. After five years of work, her substance abuse recovery workbook is complete. The two books are “Here Comes the Sun” — a recovery workbook using 12-step literature and “How did the Phoenix Rise from the Ashes,” — her recovery story. The party takes place at 11:30 a.m. at Hacienda Valley Estates, 275 Burnett Ave. There will be a raffle at $5 a ticket and a silent auction, as well as a Mexican lunch, dessert and book for $20.
