About 700 students attend Morgan Hill’s Adult School, 100 of whom are high school students trying to catch up with credits to graduate. Others are studying for their General Education Diploma or taking English as a Second Language courses.

And now for the first time, the school — which has been around since 1974 — is holding a College and Career Night where students can learn about options for college, financial aid, community colleges and four-year universities.

“We’re really trying to give students a sense of transition into college or the workforce,” said Dennis Browne, principal of the Adult School. The career night will include speakers, presentations and display tables where students can learn more about resources available.

“I’m very excited about what’s happening,” Browne said. “The response from colleges and other experiences has been really, impressive.”

Presenters include CSUMB, Gavilan, Evergreen Valley, San Jose City and De Anza Colleges, Morgan Hill Library, the Center for Employment Training, the Carpenter’s Apprenticeship Program, Work2Future and Silicon Valley Career Technical Education.
