Owner provides quality of care and years of experiences in design services

Melanie Robertson admits her father Jeff Pearson was an influential factor in her choice of going into a career enhancing the quality of people’s lives by designing their homes. She and her family moved to Morgan Hill in 1966 and until 1979, Pearson built residential homes as the city underwent the first stages of the Silicon Valley building boom. As a young girl, she enjoyed seeing her father’s projects come to life.
Morgan Hill Life asked Robertson about her Morgan Hill Interiors business and why she gets pleasure helping her customers with their window covering needs.
What are some areas of specialty you have in helping your clients in decorating their homes and businesses?
I’ve had the opportunity of working in the window covering industry for the last 29 years. This has allowed me to fully understand my products. Though I have the knowledge and capability to tell my customers what they need, I would much rather have them involved in the design process from beginning to end. I want to make sure that both the clients’ needs and desires are meet.
Why should a customer go to you for decorating help as opposed to going to a box store?
While Morgan Hill Interiors and a box store both sell window coverings, the quality of care we show our clients surpasses a general box store.
Not only do we have an immense amount of knowledge on our products, we offer one-on-one services and free in-home consultations. Most importantly, we stand behind the products we sell. We are an authorized warranty shop, which means we can facilitate a repair on any Hunter Douglas window coverings (even if you did not purchase it from Morgan Hill Interiors) for a small fee. However, if the window coverings were purchased from us, the fee is waved.
You represent Hunter Douglas window products. Describe why you recommend their products for the quality of interior decorating with your customers?
Hunter Douglas is the leading innovator for window coverings.
Not only do they offer great designs, they provide variable light control, insulation from the cold or the heat, protection against UV rays, and they can even absorb sound, creating pleasure for everyday life. However, even though they are one of our main suppliers, we do offer a variety of other manufactures, so we can meet all of our customers needs.
What are some considerations people should think about when making a decision to redecorate their homes?
There are many aspects you should consider before redecorating your home, from function to durability. Yet, of course, staying within your budget is also a top priority. Morgan Hill Interiors strives to make the design process as simple for our customers as possible.
