As the only dental group practice in Morgan Hill, Morgan Hill Dental Care can offer integrated, comprehensive and affordable dental care in the same facility. Its nine dentists are trained in general dentistry as well as specialty treatment areas such as as pediatric, orthodonist, oral sugery and endodontist (root canals) dental services.
Morgan Hill Life asked general dentist John Maquire about his business and advice he might give on maintaining healthy teeth.
How long have you been serving Morgan Hill’s dental needs and why did you move recently to your new location?
Morgan Hill Dental Care is now starting our 9th year of service in our community. We have just moved to a sparkling new facility to provide modern dental care in a matching modern facility. Our new office (on the corner of Jarvis and Technology Drive in northern Morgan Hill) has special facilities for children, orthodontic care for adolescents and adults and a full range of specialty care for adults and children.
What would you say is the primary focus of your customer service?
Most dental diseases such as cavities and periodontal or “gum” disease are substantially preventable. Our goal is to guide all of our patients towards preventing dental problems. While we serve a robust adult population, we have a keen focus on children and our goal is to keep them free of dental disease and have their dental visits be fond memories of their childhood.
Describe the services that your various dental practitioners provide your clients.
In addition to providing a wide range of general dental services we have specialists in pediatric dentistry for children, orthodontics (braces or Invisilign), oral surgery (tooth extractions and implants), endodontics (root canals) and periodontics (gum diseases).
What advice would you give people in finding a dentist (or dental specialist) that serves their individual needs?
Finding a compassionate and well trained dentist is essential. Some practices emphasize lots of treatment, we emphasize preventing dental disease. A cautious and careful dentist is more likely to steer a patient away from unnecessary treatment. Trust is very important.
Children have special dental needs. How do you deal with them in making them feel comfortable and safe during dental exams and treatments?
We have two very well trained pediatric specialists. We have designed our new office with a complete pediatric wing where the children are welcome and comfortable in a child friendly environment. We also provide for the parents who are encouraged to be with their children during care. Good dental care begins at a young age and we want our young patients to enjoy their dental experience.
