Elicia Perkins, daughter of Jeff Perkins, senior vice president/regional manager for the Central Coast region at Heritage Bank in Morgan Hill, made a guest appearance Dec. 5 on “The Crazy Ones,” a new sitcom featuring Robin Williams. Elicia Perkins, a 2005 graduate of Live Oak High School, has been a model since her early teens and moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school. She has appeared in many television commercials, but this was her first significant acting role. She played a Victoria Secrets model in the show, and said working with Robin Williams on the set was a “great experience.”
“Few people know how hard it is to succeed in the modeling/acting world,” said her father. “Elicia has always been full of determination and grace, a true professional.” Elicia’s 28-year-old sister Brittney has two children and works at Baracuda Networks as a National Channel Representative.

The city is asking for help. As part of a larger effort to study the need for more recreational opportunities, the city wants residents to complete an online survey regarding the desires for new facilities, as well as the potential expansion of existing facilities. The city is in the process of buying a 25-acre parcel in the Southeast Quadrant east of U.S. 101 and south of Tennant Avenue for the development of new ball fields that could host regional tournaments to draw visitors to the area. To take the survey, visit the city’s website at www.morganhill.ca.gov.

The 2014 Major League Baseball season is still months away, but local barber Joe Acosta is ready. He recently installed a San Francisco Giants-themed chair in his downtown shop. So what has been his patrons’ response? “Wow!” Acosta said. “Even the Dodger fans.” The chair, dating back to the 1920s, was reupholstered by a customer who completed the job while Acosta was on vacation in Disneyland with his wife and two daughters, ages 15 and 12. Acosta has been at his current location for 17 years, nearly half of his barbering career. The chair is a great addition to all the other sports memorabilia adorning his shop’s walls. So if your a baseball fan, or sports fan in general, stop by and check it out.
