Bob Snow and Renee Roberts’ father was an artist and sign-painter, so it just seems natural that creativity is in their genes. The brother and sister started Design Factory Graphics in 1999 and for the past 15 years have provided printing and design services in the South Valley region. Roberts focuses on the business and Snow focuses on the artistic side and together they make a winning team.

Morgan Hill Life recently asked Snow to tell readers about Design Factory Graphics and how customers can get the best service for their design graphics needs.

What are some important things you advise clients about when creating graphic marketing material?

Our goal is to make our clients look good. We want our clients to be proud of their marketing materials, packaging, signage and everything that represents them. To do this, we have to learn about our client’s business, their personality, how they want to be perceived, and who their customers are.

One of the things we are proud of is that we work closely with our clients to try and get to know them personally and what they are looking to do as far as their business and provide them a professional looking brand and image. Our main focus is making sure our clients have that “professional look” in presenting themselves.

What services do you offer your customers?

We do offer web design, but that is just one of many services we offer. Design Factory Graphics provides a very wide range of graphic design options. New businesses come to us to make sure they look professional from the start, and we can help them do that, even on a budget as they begin their new venture. We help existing businesses revamp and update their look. We do a lot of event design which is really fun — that includes posters, tickets, invitations and more.

We have designed books, banners, animation and video, and even audio production on occasion. We also provide logos for businesses and nonprofits.

What mistakes do you see people make when they create websites and how might they avoid making them?

When working with clients on websites or really anything they are putting out there, we encourage them to focus on what they have to offer and why someone should use their services. The world has changed and there is now this new way of marketing yourself — the web and social media. If they want to promote themselves through social media they need to understand there is a time investment they will have to give in keeping their message current on almost a daily basis.

What are some of your interests outside of work?

We both have different outside projects and interests and stay pretty busy with them outside of business. I have played in a lot of bands over the years and still do today in a variety of musical styles, I spent many years running sound for the Chamber of Commerce’s Friday Night Music Series, The Taste of Morgan Hill, Mushroom Mardi Gras and many other local events. I work with MHAT 19, the local community access TV station in Morgan Hill, and I am a founding member of the Poppy Jasper Film Festival.

What nonprofit groups in the community does DFG work with and why?

We take pride in supporting our community where we can. We grew up here and think it is important to give back to our community. We have worked with Leadership Morgan Hill, we are both graduates, classes of ‘98 and ‘99, we have also worked with the Community Law Enforcement Foundation, Air for Paws, MHAT 19, Poppy Jasper Film Festival, the Edward Boss Prado Foundation, Guglielmo’s Hope, Independence Day Celebrations,, Art a la Carte, the Morgan Hill Community Foundation, Community Solutions, the Morgan Hill Historical Society … and quite a few others over the years that I’m sure I have forgotten to mention.
