If you’ve recently driven, walked or biked through downtown Morgan Hill, you’ve probably noticed there’s something new and something bright. In partnership with the city of Morgan Hill on Oct. 24, the Morgan Hill Downtown Association led by President John McKay, an all-volunteer board came to an agreement and presented a $19,000 check to the city during the city council meeting. This check has completed the funding for the twinkling tree lights that you can now see throughout downtown. Now residents, visitors, families, couples, anyone really can take a stroll and enjoy a new brightly lit-up downtown.
This is one example of the many efforts lead by the Downtown Morgan Hill Association. They are committed to creating an unforgettable and pleasant visit for anyone visiting our city’s center.
From giving our children a safe place to spend Halloween, Safe Trick or Treat, to taking a stroll during the Morgan Hill Wine Stroll, to getting together with friends and tasting a variety of beers during Brew Crawl, it all starts with this organization. And now with the twinkle lights throughout downtown it’s obvious they will continue to improve the heart of our city.
I invite everyone to visit our wonderful downtown and see the many new changes for themselves. Buildings have been reconstructed, new restaurants have opened and will be opening, while existing establishments such as Bubbles continue to reinvent themselves. Whether you’re looking for a place to shop, grab some coffee, have a meal, get your hair done; downtown has become a one-stop shop.
